Claudio Pizarro was in charge of ruining Bolivia's celebration, and at the same time of being Peru's hero when he scored both the goals for Peru. Pizarro scored two headers, his first in the 34th minute and his second in the 85th minute. Jaime Moreno scored a beautiful volley in the 24th minute, and Jhasmany Campos in the 45th minute for Bolivia.

This result was a bit unjust, now Bolivia goes home knowing that they fought hard, they showed heart and the want to win, while Peru without playing well is on to the next round after beating Uruguay 3-0 in the first match day.

Bolivia almost went ahead in the first play of the game, Jaime Moreno missed from right in front of the goal defended by Leo Butron.

Peru did not play like if they were playing for their ticket to the next round even though they were. They never played with the hunger of a team that needed a good result.

Bolivia got their prize for their hard work in the 24th minute after a beautiful volley by Jaime Moreno that caught Butron off of his line.

. Peru¿s stars, however, got together to tie the game for Peru. Claudio Pizarro tied the game with a strong header in the 34th minute that beat goalkeeper Hugo Suarez, when Bolivia was playing best.

. Moments before half time Bolivia went ahead 2-1 after a spectacular play by Jhasmany Campos in the 45th minute. He one timed a shot after a perfect cross by Jaime Moreno.

Peru came out in the second half with everything they have looking for the tie. They needed to atleast tie to make it to the next round, but time went by and they could not get that goal.

Desperation started kicking in for Peru, and in the 78th minute Jhoel Herrera was red carded after committing a silly foul, making thing worse for Peru.

When every one was celebrating Bolivia making it to the next round a defensive error let Claudio Pizarro in to score the game tying goal, a header in the 85th minute, and ending Boliva¿s dream.
