Argentina will try to get past Peru on their way to the semifinals

Argentina has looked as the strongest team of the 2007 America Cup, and will be a very difficult rival for Peru in the quarterfinals.

Peru will face Argentina without three players. Jefferson Farfan, Jhoel Herrera, and Alberto Rodriguez will all be out against Argentina. Jefferson Farfan is the biggest loss for Peru, he suffered an ankle sprain.

Juan Carlos Mariño will take Farfan¿s place in the starting eleven, and Edgar Villamarin will take Rodriguez place.

Argentina has played the role as favorite well. They won all three opening round games, while rotating their players.

The only set back has been losing Hernan Crespo for the tournament, after pulling a muscle in his right leg.

Crespo¿s replacement in the starting eleven appears to be Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito.

Basile and his players have acknowledged that Peru will be a hard rival that must respected.

Basile has talked well about the Peruvian players and tactical planning by the Peruvian coach, however he is convinced his players will take him to the semifinals.

Argentina: Roberto Abbondanzieri; Javier Zanetti, Roberto Ayala, Gabriel Milito, Gabriel Heinze; Juan Sebastián Verón, Javier Mascherano, Esteban Cambiasso; Juan Román Riquelme; Lionel Messi and Diego Milito.

Peru: Leao Butrón; Miguel Villalta, Santiago Acasiete, Edgar Villamarín; Walter Víchez, John Galliquio; Paolo de la Haza, Juan Carlos Bazalar, Juan Carlos Mariño; Claudio Pizarro and Paolo Guerrero.
