Brazil took advantage of a Chile side without any heart, and in the first half hour put the game away. Brazil will face Uruguay in the semifinals of the 2007 America Cup, after winning 6-1.
Brazilian defender Juan started the party in the 17th minute with a header that snuck past the Chilean keeper, next Julio Baptista scored in the 23rd minute with a fantastic shot, then Robinho chipped in with goals in the 28th and 51st minute. Robinho has a total of six goals in the tournament. Josue scored the 5-0 in the 69th minute, and finally Vagner Love scored the 6-1 in the game played in General José Antonio Anzoátegui stadium.
Humberto Suazo scored in the lone goal for Chile in the 76th minute, after a fantastic individual play and beautiful finish over Brazilian goalkeeper Doni.
Brazil will face Uruguay in Maracaibo on Tuesday for their semifinal matchup.
Brazil's dominance was evident from the beginning of game. It took Brazil only 17 minutes to score their first goal. Maicon flicked a ball to the far post where fellow defender Juan headed the ball in.
In the 23rd minute Brazil went up 2-0 after a fantastic shot by Julio Baptista. Baptista received a fantastic ball by Vagner Love, and from outside of the box he put the ball far post.
Robinho took advantage of Manuel Iturra's poor marking and made the game 3-0 in the 28th minute. Robinho once again scored to make the game 4-0 in the 51st minute. Robinho was taken out in the 65th minute to let him rest for the semifinals.
That goal put an end to the game. Chile had a couple of attacks before that goal. Josue then scored in the 69th minute for Brazil.
Humberto Suazo scored the lone goal for Chile in the 76th minute. Suazo chipped the ball over the Brazilian keeper after getting past Brazilian defender Naldo.
Vagner Love closed the scoring, his first 2007 America Cup goal, in the 85th minute to make the game 6-1.
