"We have achieved one of our goals", stated Sanchez in the press conference after the game. "The main goal is to win the America Cup, and we are on the right track".

"Making it to the semifinals is difficult in a continent we do not belong to", he highlighted, and he added that the victory leaves a "good image" of Mexico.

In respect to the game, the coach highlighted the early red card the Paraguayan keeper received in the third minute, and the subsequent goal by Nery Castillo from the penalty spot.

"The red card helped us have more space on the field, but that does not take away from the fact we deserved the victory", he indicated.

He also pointed out that controlling the ball tired out the opposing team, and did not let the other team get any of their lethal counter attacks.

"We will keep getting better as the games go on", added Sanchez.

"I believe the entire team has been responding well, and that began from the first day we began training for the CONCACAF Gold Cup", stated striker Nery Castillo, who has scored two goals against Paraguay.

"We have our heads in this tournament", he also added.

"You would never imagine that, and even less against Paraguay", responded Castillo when asked about how he felt about the score of the game against Paraguay.

"We have to keep working¿ we need to be very humble", he added.
