The Brazilian national team has recovered their confidence in the quarterfinals, after thrashing Chile 6-1. That was Brazil's best performance of the tournament so far, however, they will face a team that has historically given Brazil a tough time.

Brazil has had highs and lows so far in the tournament. Their biggest virtue has been Robinho, who is the leading scorer of the America Cup with 6 goals.

Uruguay, and any other team that plays against Brazil always has that extra motivation, stated Anderson.

"It will be a good game, there are also very good players on the other team", stated the midfielder speaking of the semifinal to be played in Maracaibo.

Brazil will face a very tough Uruguayan team that will have a lot of fight. They have great individual players, like Recoba, Lugano, and Forlan, who deserve special attention, stated offensive midfielder Diego.

Brazil comes into this tournament as the most accomplished team of the last decade in the world. They won four of the five tournaments played in Bolivia 1997, Paraguay 1999, and Peru 2004. The only tournament they did not win was in 2001 when host Colombia won it.

Uruguay comes into the game with high spirits after spaking Venezuela 4-1 in San Cristobal.

Uruguay coach Oscar Washington Tabaraz, in a press conference, stated his "respect" for Brazil, whom he considers a difficult rival because of their individual players.

"We are clear that Brazil is a rival that we must respect. Their individual players are hard to beat, it's a challenge for us. Who doesn't want to face the best team in the world?, that's the truth" added Tabarez.

Uruguay will most likely use the same starting eleven he used against Venezuela, though they hope some of their most important players are adequately rested.

"We shouldnżt have many changes. We are hoping to have back the players that were very tired, or picked up some knocks in the last game", added Tabarez.

Uruguay is playing their fourth semifinal in a row after finishing third in Peru four years ago, where they beat Colombia 2-1 in the third place game.

Uruguay will be looking for their first title since 1995, when they beat Brazil 5-3 in penalty shots after tying 1-1 in regular time.
