Argentina ends Mexico's dream with a 3-0 win

The Argentine national team confirmed their status as favorites by smashing Mexico 3-0, and obtaining a spot in the final for the 2007 America Cup final.

The goals were scored by Gabriel Heinze in the 44th minute, Lionel Messi scored the 2-0 in the 61st minute, and Juan Roman Riquelme from the penalty spot scored the 3-0 in the 65th minute.

Argentina will be looking for the title of the most important national team tournament in the American continent, when the face Brazil in the final on Sunday.

Argentina¿s precision left the Mexican defense on their heels at time, especially Johnny Magallon. Magallon looked very shakey.

Nery Castillo was the most dangerous Mexican player on the field. Every time he had the ball there was always danger, however, he held onto the ball too long.

Andres Guardado was close to putting Mexico ahead in the 35th minute. He made a run down the left hand side of the field, he faked out two defender and kissed the post with his shot.

Argentina responded 6 minutes later with a shot by Carlos Tevez. Oswaldo Sanchez saved the shot.

It seemed that the game was going to half time 0-0, but a free kick taken Juan Roman Riquelme found a wide-open Gabriel Heinze that hit a one-time shot and made the game 1-0 in the 44th minute.

In the 54th minute Mexico was close to tying the game in the 54th minute, when Rafael Marquez found Nery Castillo wide open. Castillo hit the crossbar with that shot.

In the 61st minute Messi made the game 2-0. He saw Sanchez off of his line and he hit a masterful chip that ended in the back of the net.

Juan Roman Riquelme closed the scoring from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.
