13/JUL/2005 -Mexico dominated early and Hector Altamirano came very close to
putting the team ahead after a narrow miss in the 5th minute.
With a cohesive plan of attack, Mexico advanced with ease and Medina connected
in the 19th minute thanks to an excellent pass from Ernesto Perez.
Although Jamaica looked in danger of being routed, Mexico eased off its offensive
press, allowing their rivals to counter attack and set up some scoring chances.
Jamaica's best chance during the first half came thanks to Damani Ralph, but
he was unable to put the ball past Mexico's defense.
In the second half, Mexico lost some of its composure, and although coach Ricardo
Lavolpe made three substitutions, the team was unable to create any meaningful
scoring opportunities.
Jamaica midfield Omar Daley received his second yellow card in the 71st minute,
