Thanks to his great talent and skills, Maradona took Argentiona by the hand to win their second World Cup in 1986, and also took them to the final in 1990.
He made his debut when he was 15 years old in Argentinos Juniors, and shortly after everyone was talking of the things he could do with his left foot.
After being crowned champion in 1981 with Boca Juniors, he signed for F.C. Barcelona where, even though he was infected with hepatitis and broke his ankle, he was able to win a Spanish cup.
Regardless, his best soccer was showcased in Italy where he took humble Napoli to two league titles, an Italian Cup and a UEFA Cup. He became to biggest idol in the city.
He was as brilliant as he was controversial. Maradona always made it very clear that he loved Argentina’s national team above all and he was the captain of the team for over 10 years. He played 91 games and scored 34 goals.
