The sport with the most followers in Germany is, without a doubt, soccer. Hundreds of amateur clubs throughout Germany allow their members to play the sport. But these aren’t the only sports Germany has to offer. There are also gymnasiums, swimming pools, and playing fields for other sports, such as handball, volleyball, basketball and tennis, among others.
To go on ecotours or hikes, the best options are in the Harz Mountains, the Black Forest, and the Bavarian Forest. There are some 81,972 miles of registered trails, and cabins and refuges that are generally maintained and cared for by the German Alpine Club can be found throughout the alpine trails. For winter sports, the majority of ski areas are in the southern part of the country. There are also ice skating and ice hockey rinks. |
