Dining
When one thinks of Germany, the dish that comes to mind is sausages generously simmered with beer. And there’s no secret as to why, as there are more than 1,500 types of sausages, such as those from Frankfurt (less spicy), Nuremberg (which are served grilled), and those from Bavaria (white).

But German dining offers other possibilities such as smoked fish, saurkraut, cheeses from the Mainz region, pies (especially apple and the famous strudel), and the varied recipes from the Sarre zone, which combine German cooking with plates of French origin.

German food is characterized by its generous portions and caloric content. Some plates not to be missed are smoked pork chops, cabbage leaves stuffed with chopped meat, and small filets of chopped meat called frikadellen.
