 German player Gerd Müller is the best goal scorer in World Cup history. He scored 14 goals in the two World Cups he played (1970 and 1974). French player Just Fontaine holds the second position, with 13 goals scored in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.
King Pele, three time-World Cup winner and Ronaldo, goal scorer in the Brazilian victory for the fifth World Cup, scored 12 goals each and hold the third position.
In 2006 World Cup Germany, Ronaldo, the only player holding the first positions in the list and still in activity, may engrave in history and even surpass Müller himself.
To complete the best goal scorer positions, German player Jürgen Klinsmann scored 11 goals, together with Hungarian player Sandor Kocsis. The Polish Lato and the English Gary Lineker, both with 10, appear after them.
