Cold but Cozy

Usually, the weather in Hanover does not benefit the thousands of tourists visiting the city on an annual basis. Mean temperature in Winter is nearly 33º F; in Summer, temperature is mild: recording mean values of 62º F.

A Very Rich City

There are many attractions in Hanover. Below you will find some of them:

The Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, with the Great Garden: the only European baroque room that remained unchanged; built in 1666 with a large fountain (up to 90 yards), a theater dated back to 1689 and a gallery with the baroque room and the largest fresco cycle from Northern Germany.

"Eilenriede", an area of 0.16 acres and many breweries with gardens (Biergarten) for rest, sports, and more.

The Berggarten greenhouse: the most recent attraction in the botanic garden.

The New City Hall (built in 1613), with an oblique elevator leading to the dome gallery.

Hanover Congress Centrum, a neoclassic building dated back to 1914; the first German Garden Exhibition was held in its surrounding park in 1951.

Trading Tradition

Hanover has a variety of stores in Georgstraße (between Kröpcke and Aegidientorplatz) and in downtown, apart from many other stores between streets Kröpcke and Steintor.

The covered galleries are other options for purchases, mainly Luise and Kröpcke. Visiting the Lister meile market, in Karmarschstraße, is also worthwhile.

Hanover has much to offer to young people of age and spirit. Cyclists and skaters will always meet in Inliner-Biergarten, Eilenriede, and Georgstraße. Bars and discos are also exciting for the youngest.

Hannovers Hausbreiereien, with live music, is the ideal place to meet new friends. For techno music fans or for those reluctant to go into the party, the Reincarnation-Parade annually held in the city, is a must.

For the most peaceful, the Vogelpark Walsrode is a good option. It is the world's largest bird park, comprising 800 species and up to 5000 birds of different continents and weather zones, in thematic environments.
