Fritz Walter Stadion

The Fritz-Walter-Stadion was opened in 1920. Built on the mount Betzenberg, it was named after the German team captain at the 1954 FIFA World Cup, and it is home of the Kaiserslautern team.

After Germany was awarded the organization of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the Kaiserslautern strengthened its efforts to enhance the Fritz-Walter-Stadion to achieve the required levels.
