Know and Admire
Some call it "love at second or third sight"; others are excited about its "hidden treasures". May be you first have to visit Kaiserslautern to then discover its true character.
Unfortunately, the city does not offer much historic architecture. The destruction of the old Kaiserslautern is not to be blamed on foreign powers only. Local inhabitants themselves also helped change the city character.
After Second World War, several historical buildings disappeared with the rise of industries in the region over the second half of the nineteenth century.
Anyway, there are many charms and attractive places in the city. Those fond of theatre may visit the Kaiserslautern Palatinate. The Kammgarn Arts Center and the Fruchthalle always host good music concerts and symphonic orchestras.
The city is also enriched by museums and galleries: Palatinate Galleries, Theodor Zink Museum, Beer Stein Museum, and Wack Gallery, among others. |
